Your privacy, looked after

Glow Tide (“we”, “us”) runs glowtideshop.com. We are the data controller for the personal information described here. You can reach us at hello@glowtideshop.com.

• Orders: your name, email, delivery address and what you bought, so we can send your order, email you about it and keep the records the law requires. Card details are handled by Square and never reach us.
• Your account: your name, email and password (stored securely, we can’t see it), plus your saved favourites and gratitude jar entries if you use them.
• Our newsletter: your email and first name if you sign up. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any email or contacting us.
• Messages: what you send through our contact form, so we can reply.
• Back-in-stock alerts: your email and the product, so we can tell you once when it returns.
• Reviews: if you review something you bought, we keep your name, star rating and what you wrote, so we can check it before it appears. A photo is optional. We only use a photo on our social media if you tick the consent box, and we don’t offer anything in return for a review.
• Visit statistics: anonymous information such as the pages viewed, the type of device and browser. This isn’t linked to your name and helps us improve the shop.

We use your information to perform our contract with you (your orders and account), because the law requires it (for example tax records), with your consent (the newsletter), and for our legitimate interest in running and improving a small online shop.

Only the trusted services that help us run the shop, and only what they need:

• Square (payments)
• Supabase (secure database and accounts)
• Cloudflare (website hosting and image storage)
• Resend (order and account emails)
• Royal Mail or our chosen courier (delivering your parcel)

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser stores a few small things that make the shop work: your bag, your sign-in, and your checkout details so you don’t have to type them twice.

Order records are kept for six years for tax purposes. Account information is kept until you ask us to delete your account. Newsletter details are removed when you unsubscribe.

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, object to how we use it, or ask us to stop emailing you. Just email hello@glowtideshop.com. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
